HealthWest has a volunteer program for individuals who receive services to foster community service, involvement, and growth opportunities. Examples of opportunities include:

 

 

  • Consumer Advisory Committee. This group holds monthly meeting to prepare individuals to serve on HealthWest committees to inform agency policies and practices.
  • Coffee serving and greeting in the HealthWest lobby. Coffee is served daily between 9-11am.
  • Consumer Advisory Committee Annual Picnic. The CAC puts on a fun public event with the goal of lessening the stigma of mental illness and giving back to the community.
  • HEALTH, WELLNESS & RECOVERY event. Help plan a community picnic focused on total health.
  • Community service. Opportunities such as the “United Way Day of Caring”
  • In development: speaker’s bureau. Learn how to tell your story in a way that inspires others and decreases stigma around mental health.
  • Other volunteer activities as requested by other agencies and the community.
