HealthWest has a wide array of integrated health services designed to meet the needs of adults and youth with serious behavioral health challenges, developmental disabilities and co-occurring substance use disorders.
We care about you, your goals, and your needs. You are a partner in the care you receive from HealthWest, and our aim is to provide meaningful resources and opportunities for everyone who receives services from us.
Our 50 years of experience have taught us that caring for the “whole person” is key to wellness and recovery. Physical health and mental health are interconnected. On average, individuals with serious mental illness live 25 years less than their peers and have more chronic illnesses than matched populations of Medicaid recipients, including diabetes, metabolic syndrome, lung and liver diseases, high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases and dental disorders. Contributing factors can include lack of information, shortage of health providers, transportation and access problems, and lack of care standards. It is important to us to raise the bar for care standards and address barriers that get in the way of promoting health for the individuals we serve. Our approach is to be proactive in addressing all aspects of health– behavioral health concerns as well as physical health concerns.
