Services

Those open to services at HealthWest have opportunities for involvement in our substance use services. For more than 15 years staff members who are specially trained and certified have assisted clients/those receiving services at HealthWest to recover from substance use concerns. These services involve:

 

  • A full assessment of the person and the substances used
  • Individual therapy to promote recovery process
  • Group treatment based on individual needs according to stage of change behaviors

 

 

Criteria for admission:

 

  • Substance use services are available to any HealthWest consumers with substance use concerns and addictive behavior patterns
  • Referrals are generally made when staff and consumers mutually decide to address substance use concerns

 

 

Groups available:

 

  • Several maintenance groups are held each week to sustain recovery process
  • Skill building groups such as anger management and topical groups for male and female members only
  • Groups available for people contemplating involvement in substance use treatment
  • Relapse prevention is a major emphasis in groups

 

 

Referral process:

 

  • Primary workers will assist consumers to set up an  appointment to complete an assessment
  • Consumers will have a menu of services available to choose from that meet their specific needs and goals

 

 

 

Those not receiving services from HealthWest currently or do not qualify for HealthWest services:

 

Not in services at HealthWest and seeking help for a substance use problem? You can go directly to a Designated Entry provider listed below. They will conduct pre-screening to determine eligibility for funded services. If eligible for services, a full assessment will be completed and recommendations for providers to meet their service needs will be provided.
