Take the time to become a certified gatekeeper in the skills needed to save a life.  1 in 5 people will struggle with a mental illness in their life.  Sometimes those struggles can become life threatening.  Still, the overwhelming majority of people who express suicidal ideas do not actually want to die. In this brief class, (less than 90 minutes), you will learn the basics about how to assist someone who is talking about taking their own life.

QPR is free.

When in the company of a suicidal person we can get confused, upset, and concerned about what to do.  The steps are fairly simple and this class will give you those steps.  Most people who die by suicide have discussed their desire to die before taking their life.  And most of us do not know what to say or do in those times.

Join us for this very important training being offered by HealthWest, Mercy Prevention Practices, Disability Network, Access Health, Public Health, and other community partners.

Do you have a group that you want trained and you can’t make this date?  Call and we will come to you or your business to teach these important skills.  231-724-6618.  Ask about getting a QPR for your workplace, church or organization free of charge.
