Youth Mental Health First Aid Training – FREE

May 18, 2017 @ 4:00 am - 12:30 pm

GET CERTIFIED IN YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID.

You may know CPR or the Heimlich manuver. You can call 911. But, would you know how to administer
first aid in a mental health crisis? Doyou know what depression, anxiety or psychosis look like? Could you recognize suicidal thoughts or behaviors? Would you know what to do if someone was having a mental health crisis?

1 in 5 people will struggle with a mental health crisis this year.

Suicide is now the number 1 cause of death for 10-14 year olds. It is the second leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds.

More than 500,000 Americans have been trained in Mental Health First Aid.

You will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance use disorders and psychosis. You will learn to recognize suicidal thoughts and behaviors. You will also learn what to do until appropriate professional and other help can begin.

This training is free of charge.

This day long course helps to decrease the apprehension that people might feel when someone around them is showing signs of a mental health crisis. Learning about these topics will decrease stigma and discrimination.

Learn this for yourself. Bring it to your community.

This evidence based program will change lives.

Please note: This is YOUTH Mental Health First Aid. This class will teach about the unique mental health concerns that present in young people. There is also a ADULT Mental Health First Aid class which teaches about the unique concerns surrounding mental health and adults.
