Mental Health First Aid
Anyone can learn the skills to help someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis! Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health related crisis.
In this 8 hour course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations. You will also learn where to turn for help. This class is proven to reduce the apprehension that we can sometimes feel when confronted with a mental health problem. Also, in communities where this course is being taught there is a reduction in suicides as well as the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
Mental Health First Aid classes include:
- Adult MHFA
- Youth MHFA
- MHFA for Law Enforcement and First Responders
- MHFA for Veterans and Their Families
- MHFA for Higher Education
