A Call To Protect The Affordable Care Act

As you may be aware, Congressional efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act are on a fast track, included in these discussions are significant changes to Medicaid reimbursements to states as well as Medicaid expansion. Please take a few minutes to reach out to your member of Congress to educate them on why protecting current Medicaid services and supports are critically important to your community.

The benefits of the ACA and Medicaid expansion in Michigan are well documented as over 600,000 Michigan residents who were previously uninsured are now covered.  This makes for a healthier Michigan!  There are many other benefits as well.(http://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/2017/01/04/university-michigan-expanding-medicaid-benefits/96174234/)

We are urging Members of Congress to oppose any proposal that would potentially limit or cap current Medicaid programs and supports, including eliminating the Healthy Michigan Plan. Current proposals being discussed would cut several hundred billion in federal support to the Medicaid program over the next ten years, which will undoubtedly lead to a cut back in services.
