More Information

Our 50 years of experience have taught us that caring for the “whole person” is key to wellness and recovery. Physical health and mental health are interconnected. On average, individuals with serious mental illness live 25 years less than their peers and have more chronic illnesses than matched populations of Medicaid recipients, including diabetes, metabolic syndrome, lung and liver diseases, high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases and dental disorders. Contributing factors can include lack of information, shortage of health providers, transportation and access problems, and lack of care standards. It is important to us to raise the bar for care standards and address barriers that get in the way of promoting health for the individuals we serve. Our approach is to be proactive in addressing all aspects of health– behavioral health concerns as well as physical health concerns.
